Bead For Success Design Contest 2010

Contest Rules and Guidelines

Bead for Success Design Contest is open to all who wish to participate. Participants may enter Bead for Success Contest by purchasing 1 strand of pearls ($10) from Bead Q!. Out of state entries may participate by requesting to have pearls by mail, an additional $2 will be applied to the purchase of the pearls. (Shipping charges will not be donated.)
All participants will be provided the same style, shape, color, and quality of pearl.

Submission Design Requirements:

• Must have no less than one pearl from strand provided
• All participants must produce at least a necklace but may also include earrings and/or bracelet to compliment their design. Designs include as much or as little embellishment as needed to create a finished piece of jewelry.
• All designs MUST be new, original, have not been used in a previous competition and cannot be copied from a pattern.
• Be soundly constructed and ready to wear.

Additional Requirements:

• Every entry must be submitted separately.
• All items must be placed in one Ziploc bag and accompanied by the Bead for Success application.
• Be Tagged and numbered with tag provided and number on application. Additional tags may be requested for bracelet and earrings.

Judging Guidelines

Entrants will be judged for
1. Originality
2. Creative use of pearls with other elements
3. Complexity of design.
All entries will be judged anonymously. Upon receipt, all submissions will be digitally photographed with corresponding numbers. Judges will receive a CD with digital images for review based on the above criteria.

Important Dates, 2010

February 15 – March 15, Pearls available for purchase
April 1 - Deadline for submissions. All entries must be returned or to Bead Q! or postmarked by this date. (send all submision to Bead Q! C/O Bead for Success, 8584 East Washington, Suite B, Chagrin Falls, OH 44023)
May 15 - Winners will be announced on the Bead Q! website. Winners will be contacted by phone.
June 1 - Winning pieces will be on display at Bead Q! in Rocky River.
